Backed by New Zealand Government, The Drua Foundation hosted a four-day Remote Communities Program in Naitasiri from the 18th to the 22nd of August, bringing together 16 schools with 100+ students and 80 teachers,. Across the first three days, students took part in financial literacy and safeguarding workshops, while teachers were equipped with coaching and first aid training to strengthen their roles in schools and communities. The program closed with the Remote Communities Challenge — a 7s rugby tournament that saw all U14 boys and U16 girls’ teams compete in an exciting showdown. Naitasiri Secondary School came out on top in the U16 Girls division, while Wainimakutu Village School secured the U14 Boys title, wrapping up four days of learning, growth, and competition. Ngā mihi nui New Zealand 🇳🇿 Government for backing the Drua Foundation.
